ALUMINIUM
As one of the most used marine metals, Aluminium is also beneficial in aircraft, electrical systems and navigation radars. This is in part to its lightweight properties, allowing for lighter craft and better fuel management. Precision aluminium castings are essential in the defence and military sector due to their tight tolerances. Other defence and military applications for aluminium include weaponry, military vehicles and body armour.
STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless Steel is highly featured in aircraft and land vehicles within the defence industry, thanks in part to its non-magnetic and corrosion resistance properties. Its high tensile strength and ductility makes it perfect for military weaponry (like missiles), hardware and equipment.
COPPER
Copper plays a significant role in the defence and military sector because of its high conductivity, heat resistance, malleability and ductility. A variety of copper alloys are used for high-performance and high-pressure applications such as for valves, pumps, shafts, bolting and steering mechanisms within tanks and aircraft undercarriage components. Additionally, certain copper alloys are used for connectors, couplings, enclosures, and housing in aircraft, switches, and lighting systems.
