Bespoke Aluminium Extrusions

MG Metals specialises in the creation and design of custom aluminium extrusions.

We work alongside our clients from conception of an idea, through to project completion, to ensure total satisfaction.  The creation begins at the design stage where we can adapt and work from your ideas.  Whether we receive a rough sketch or detailed drawing, our design team aims to create a drawing suited to your specifications.  We target a maximum 48 hour timescale to provide you with the important feedback on your design, coupled with a budget figure for bringing your design to life.

MG Metals are able to supply bespoke extrusions weighing 0.012kg/mtr upto 32kgs/mtr with wall thickness from 0.50mm upwards in various alloys.

Examples of some custom extrusions we have organised for customers.

Finishing - Powder Coating

MG Metals can offer finishing services to enhance your profiles and truly bring them to life.  We offer a comprehensive range of architectural grade polyester powder coatings as part of our service.  This represents a cost effective route to achieving a durable and colourful finish, ensuring quality products and innovative technologies are available to meet current and future needs of our client base.

Colours can be chosen from our extensive RAL or British Standard colour ranges in matt, satin or high gloss, or we can look to match client specifications in matt, metallic or textured finishes.

Anodising is an electrochemical process used to produce durable and decorative finishes on components made of aluminium or aluminium-based alloyd.

Aluminium in an untreated form produces a protective oxide coating on exposure to the atmoosphere.  This oxide is inherently protective, but being very thin it provides little resistance to long term corrosion.  The coating however, can be thickened by anodising.  The depth of the anodic film is determined by the time in the anodising tank, usually between 15-60 minutes which will create an anodic film thickness between 5 and 25 microns.

The standard colour is silver, normally supplied in 5, 15 and 25 micron thicknesses, however other colours are available upon request.
